ABOUT US

Jus` Blues Music is a Georgia private company whose main purpose is to promote and preserve the artists and artistry of Blues music of African-Americans by producing special events.

Established in 1990, Jus` Blues Music was initially formed as a management company working special projects with record labels such as Alligator, King Snake, Gitanes, Verve and others. Jus` Blues Music was also the administrative home in assisting the careers of Lowell Fulson, Lucky Peterson, Trudy Lynn, Kenny Neal, The Kinsey Report, Joe Louis Walker and others.

In 1995, Jus` Blues Music expanded its outreach to producing special events like concerts and festivals. July 27th – 30th marked the inaugural production of the Atlanta Heritage Blues Festival featuring renowned artists like Lowell Fulson, Francine Reed, Chick Willis, James Peterson, Theodis Ealey and many other Blues acts from across the country.

The Jus` Blues Music Awards Show was the kickoff as a tribute to the accomplishments of traditional and contemporary Blues artists.

The 1995 event also kicked off the Jus` Blues Music “Blues in the Schools Program.” We teamed with the late Shirley Dixon (daughter of immortal Blues Man Willie Dixon) of the Blues Heaven Foundation, Hohner Harmonicas, Lucky Peterson and Chicago Bob Nelson to produce a program in support of school music programs and bringing music history to Atlanta Public School youths.

Hohner donated 2000 harmonicas to distribute. Chicago Bob Nelson demonstrated technique and Lucky Peterson accompanied him on guitar. We toured 5 grade schools and hopefully left an impact and positive impression on the students.

The success of the Atlanta Heritage Blues Festival spawned future concerts, recordings and special events featuring the bevy of artists Jus` Blues Music developed relationships with. Costly expenses inhibited producing this type caliber of event annually. However, the Awards Show continued through the years.

The Jus` Blues Music Awards Show has since gained momentum and credibility for Blues & Soul music artists, industry professionals and Blues & Soul music fans worldwide.
